Whether we seek spiritual enlightenment or just contemplative thought, letting go of the world's and our own challenges to connect with a greater force to be at peace is highly restorative. It doesn't have to be an organized religion we support, as long as we admit that there are things in the universe that we don't understand and can't explain because they "just are". It is interesting to note that three primary global religions have a restorative element to them this time of year: Christianity with the prelude to and Christ's execution and resurrection; Islam with Ramadan (sacrifice, purge and cleanse, and restore);and Judaism with Passover. Coincidence?
I think we can all sacrifice a bit of our daily activities and "addictions" (dating apps, vices, centerism, etc.) this week for the greater good of ourselves and those that we care about the most. Maybe it will help restore faith in our abilities and in mankind's capability to be kind and giving instead of destructive and domineering. Food for thought to feed a starving mind .......
