In writing my next book, I am going to the source to corroborate my ideas: women. I have had some of the most powerful 15 minute conversations with women on topics of fear of failure, money stories and what it takes to truly seek happiness. I have confirmed many of the new beliefs I developed in 2023 where I was the happiest I have ever been in my life.
Like blissfully happy.
I also made more money than I ever have in my whole career.
Coincidence? I think not.
When we are wildly happy, we naturally gravitate to activities that heighten our best skills, and when we are in our zone of permission to be who we are, then we get paid well. Here is the best part, we don’t have to kill ourselves to do it.
In 2023, I took weekends off, and spent hours at lunchtime hanging in the park looking at trees. When it came time to do work, I was refreshed, and felt on point. I was happy and thriving in romance and while I was not completely shielded by life’s trials (sending a daughter to college for the first time, buying a condo and moving), instead of worrying about how to make money or find love, I gave myself permission to be happy. When I would have a negative belief creep in, or I would experience fear, I would ask myself what I was afraid of. If I could give voice to that fear, I would in trusted circles. I would no longer discount my concerns as invalid. I would get them off the table and get right back as soon as possible to being happy. I didn’t allow any sense of lingering of bad energies that would hold me back from what was next that I wanted to do which brought me joy.
When we are in a place of freedom from regret, shame and guilt, and when we don’t fear failure, we are able to go out into the world and inspire by how we choose to live our lives. We get to love louder, and make choices that are aligned to our original spirit and inspire others. Since women are who drive my business with their referrals, I also know that women can drive my book. These conversations with women about the 16 permissions in my book left us excited and breathless. We also knew that we had just started to talk about why we think rejection should even be a concept in our lives. What happened if that wasn’t even an option? You chose to not choose me, that's fine, but it has nothing to do with me. It has to do with you. We sometimes make choices to not hire someone or date someone. Not rejection but knowing where we are aligned.
When we are clear about what we want, and how to ask for it, we give ourselves permission to go out and live a happy life where we can inspire others, be of service, and be limitless with our dreams.
I am beyond excited about this book because I have lived it, and now I get to share it with the world. Being a writer is exciting when you have a lived experience that is your evidence. Then you get to bring that content to other readers, and in this case business women who are mothers like me, and see your teachings and epiphanies light them up.
More to come in the columns about this book because I am on fire about it.
